In my 14 years of QA experience with 6 different companies, test automation has always been a hot topic and a long term goal for most QA departments. Management always has visions of how it’s going to save the company time and money by locating bugs early, and minimizing the time spent on manual regression testing. This time they’re right, it would do all these things, if only these companies would invest the time required to implement this strategy correctly.
